NEW YORK, I LOVE YOU + FOREST
The short film compilation "New York, I Love You" is the spiritual successor to Paris, Je T'aime: Here and there are many renowned directors found to pay homage to a (movie) metropolis in a series of short films. In addition, both projects of producer and screenwriter Emmanuel Benbihy initiated, the date is already sitting in the implementation of "Shanghai, I Love You". In New York, I Love You "in addition to Fatih Akin (Head On), Mira Nair (Vanity Fair) and Brett Ratner (X Men - The Last Stand), although a series of rather unknown film-makers of the game. All eleven episodes all revolve around interpersonal relationships. The individual contributions are due to the omission of title insertions directly into each other (the transitions were directed by Randall Balsmeyer), which makes you feel the different episodes would at the same time - just on a street corner - playing.

from roots and staging her go the individual short films apart, of course: While some episodes primarily of ground dialogues (like that of Yvan Attal) live, others work in the first Line with captivating images (such as Shekhar Kapur's most elegant, with Shia LaBeouf, Julie Christie and John Hurt bright reception review). Some are tragic, others more casually or funny - hybrids of course not excluded. Coherence donate here are some rules that Emmanuel Benbihy lined up in advance for the filmmakers: The stories should edit in some way the theme of "love," New York will not begin and end associated with black screens or with one or more districts. Just last rule provides - on the side of pure craft - for the aforementioned river, distinguished New York, I Love You "and the project, the staccato-like many similar compilations spared. It also authorized the filmmakers turn a maximum of 48 hours and spend up to seven days in the editing room. Most interesting, especially with regard to consistency, but the final rule is that the designers, costume designers and other members of the crew were - as in "Paris, Je T'aime" - the same for all contributions. Benbihy has put so through some simple but effective rules, the basis for a certain unity of parts, which is reflected in the results very positive.

Finally, the finished film are the makers of law, "New York, I Love You" is a multifaceted love letter to a vibrant city where milestones like Taxi Driver or Wall Street were shot, and a collection of eleven beautiful, blurred separate short films that are worthwhile to look at all!
